Explore program

AbbSchool is pleased to offer a new and exciting range of workshops for gifted and talented students every holiday period and, on occasion, some after school workshops during term time. These courses are open to boys and girls from the local community from Kindergarten to Year 6. Students are encouraged to share their knowledge, be challenged by new ideas and make friends as they learn collaboratively with children who share interests and abilities. The courses offer intellectual challenge, constructive and caring feedback, and opportunities for students to develop social skills within a nurturing environment.

About our programs

The workshops suit boys and girls who are deep and considered thinkers and who enjoy dedicating time to developing their understanding and skills under the supervision of passionate and experienced tutors. New workshops are added regularly and may include a science excursion to the museum, creative art making, writing a play and acting, maths and puzzles, and the wonders of the human body.

A brochure outlining each workshop on offer is published quarterly and includes detailed criteria to help parents gauge whether the workshop will suit their child. Workshops may run over two mornings or for a full day. All workshops take full advantage of the specialist learning spaces of the Junior School campus.

Explore workshops encourage collaborative learning with time to work independently on projects of each student’s own interest. The supportive and nurturing environment of these workshops encourages students to embrace intellectual challenge as they explore themes and topics in greater depth.
