Established in 1976, the Abbotsleigh Foundation is a registered charity with the central goal of assisting the School financially for initiatives including scholarships, prizes, development of buildings and supporting educational facilities such as the School’s libraries.
The Foundation's financial reports are available on the website of the Australian Charities and Not for Profits Commission and are also sent to Foundation members.
Notice of resignation of auditor dated 20 October 2017
On 14 September 2017 the Abbotsleigh Foundation board resolved, subject to ASIC’s consent, to appoint Nexia Audit Pty Ltd as the Foundation’s new auditor. The reason for the proposed change in auditor was the board’s view that Nexia Pty Ltd would offer increased value in its auditing services, particularly in the areas of not for profit and financial governance. On 5 October 2017 ASIC issued its consent to the resignation of the Foundation’s auditor, Manser Tierney & Johnston. On 12 October 2017 Manser Tierney & Johnston tendered its resignation as the Foundation’s auditor.
Apply for Abbotsleigh Foundation membership
Abbotsleigh Foundation members believe in the importance of an excellent education and care about the collective impact of their gifts on the School and its students. Our members feel immense pride as they join together to shape the future of Abbotsleigh.
Members are invited to Foundation dinners, have voting and Board nomination rights and are offered other invitational benefits as our way of showing appreciation for their support. We encourage the entire Abbotsleigh community to apply for membership, simply by making an initial gift of $500 to the Foundation. Gifts of $25,000 or more provide eligibility for Black and Gold Society membership.
