The 99th IGSSA Tildesley Shield Tennis Tournament is over again for another year and our girls should be very proud of the way that they conducted themselves!

Sasha Nelson (Year 11) was our best performing singles player, going down in the fifth round to a very strong Meriden player, 3-8.
Elyana Moonen and Lily Lin, both Year 8, made the fourth round.
Noemie Ah Chong (Year 10) and Caitlin Oschadleus (Year 12) also went down to Meriden (1-8), in the quarter finals of the doubles draw.
Ailee Blackshaw (Year 11) and Miah Poon (Year 10) were our next best-performing pair, making the fourth round.

Our linesgirls received the honour of being selected to officiate at the semi-finals and finals, along with the girls from Frensham and Danebank. This is a wonderful achievement and is testament to the great training by Matt Shanahan. The girls are:

Year 11: Annabelle Campbell, Sophie Overton
Year 9: Olivia Binnie, Xanthe Condoleon, Anneka Lees, Juliet Slack-Smith, Skye Weston
Year 8: Skye Lilburne, Prudence McGrath

Congratulations to Meriden for winning the overall trophy. Abbotsleigh was thrilled to come in 6th place!

The top ten results were:

1. Meriden (481.31)
2. Queenwood (175.69)
3. Pymble (175.19)
4. PLC Sydney (155.60)
5. Kincoppal Rose Bay (153.47)
6. Abbotsleigh (148.75)
7. St Catherine's (138.36)
8. Kambala (125.97)
9.  Ascham (122.59)
10. Roseville (117.72)

Finally, a big congratulations and thank you to Brendon Rose, Matt Shanahan and Cass Chan for all their coaching of the girls – they did a magnificent job.

The two days were very long – 7 am pickup at school, 8 pm return to school. It was a great effort from all the girls and their families.
