Senior School Swimming Carnival 2019

By Clementine Hobill Cole | Vice Head Prefect, Houses
The 2019 swimming carnival is officially done and dusted and what an incredible day it was. The energy and noise radiating from Olympic park could have been heard from Wahroonga. Spirits were high and the girls banded together, representing their houses with joy and passion.
One of our notable events is the iconic lap-a-thon, where each house, occupying one lane, tries to get as many girls in the pool as possible (and as many laps as possible). I can confirm that a raft carrying three girls, trustily rowed using a pool noodle, did make it to the finish line!
In the intense house captain and staff relay, the staff competed at racing speed and earned themselves first place. Rumour has it that they have been secretly training since 2018…
And for the highly anticipated boarder/day girl/old girl race, the annual title was given to the day girls, but it is worth mentioning that the AOGU team were close on their tails.
Congratulations to Wright House for being the overall winning house and to Chisholm for winning House Spirit on the day. Well done to Wright and Gilmore who had the greatest number of girls complete laps in the lap-a-thons.
A massive thank you to Mr Ong and Ms Breden, and Mr and Mrs St Vincent for presenting ribbons to the girls on the day, as well as Mr Bultitude and Mrs Howitt for making the event run as smoothly as it did.
Bring on Cross Country!!!
