Abbotsleigh Senior School students had the privilege of experiencing the body of work presented by lighting engineer Professor Barry Webb in preparation for Abbotsleigh’s upcoming Willy Wonka inspired GLOW event on Wednesday 27 June from 5.30-9 pm on the Senior School campus.

Professor Webb was integral in the design and engineering of the lighting for the Sydney Olympics, street lighting of Anzac Parade, Canberra, and working with Jan Utzon for the internal lighting at the Sydney Opera House. These are just a few of his innovative projects.

Professor Webb talked about his design process and challenges with the engineering of projects, particularly those using new technologies. We are fortunate that he is so generous with his time to work with our lighting team, Swatantra Roy, Kaytlyn Williams, Chelsea Chaffey, Nikita Sethi and Alison Trung on the GLOW opening project. We look forward to seeing you at the event, to experience another of his innovative lighting designs.
