Literary Festival - a Junior School perspective

By Tania Moriarty, Teacher Librarian
The Abbotsleigh Literary Festival was no less exciting in the Junior School. We began with some big name sessions in the Senior School as well as a delightful performance by Bronwyn Vaughn for the younger students.
The girls enjoyed taking part in a variety of writing and illustrating workshops from much-loved favourites such as Sarah Davis and Mark Wilson, as well as Tristan Bancks and Glenda Millard. These workshops allowed the girls to get some practical tips and inspiration, plus try out their new-found skills in a small group atmosphere.
The festival finished with the much-anticipated annual book character parade. This year ELC and Transition took part in the parade for the first time and walked proudly in their costumes.
Pictured below are Glenda Millard, Adam Brisson from Toon Creations, Sarah Davis, Liz Anelli, Tristan Bancks, the festival bookshop and a few snaps from the book character parade.
