To fulfil the anticipated tradition, on the second Thursday of this term, all of Year 9 gathered in the Sports Hall for a fun night of dancing with Saint Joseph's College. Upon arrival, the girls were positioned into a snake-like spiral where we were all partnered up with a boy from Joeys. Over the next two hours, many new friendships were formed as we spun, waltzed and cha-chaed our way around the room. One of the highlights from the evening was the well spirited Nutbush competition. It was a tight match, but in the end, Abbotsleigh emerged victorious.
None of this would have been possible without the hard work and dedication that our teachers put into organising the event. The dance instructors were also a key component to the overall success of the night. Thanks to our prior preparation from Mrs Carmody, no toes were stepped on in the course of the evening. We would also like to thank the Joeys boys for being excellent dancing partners and the DJ who delivered on keeping the atmosphere vibrant. All in all, it was a night to remember and Years 7 and 8 definitely have something to look forward to.
