Kristina's slam dunk

Abbotsleigh congratulates Kristina Moore (Year 11) who last week played for New South Wales at the School Sport Australia basketball championships in Terrigal. Her team won the Gold Medal match against Victoria in the Grand Final with a final score of 88-71.

Kristina played eight round games against Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland and ACT, playing against each state twice.

“At the beginning of the week we had a girl badly sprain her ankle, one with a split head that had six stitches and a broken arm so on Tuesday and Thursday, we only had seven players – so it was fantastic to come away with all wins,” said Kristina.

“It was a close game from the beginning. We were down by a bit but we pulled through in the second half to get a win. To win the gold medal at a national championships as well as being undefeated was an amazing feeling, knowing you have put in all the hard work and come away with a great outcome,” said Kristina.
