In the press: Guide Dog George

The Boarding Houses have welcomed a new Guide Dog, 11-week old black labrador, George.

Abbotsleigh enjoys a reciprocal relationship with Guide Dogs NSW/ACT, with George being the 10th puppy through the School.  Our boarders benefit from  a service project, and the joy of having a puppy in the Houses - while the Guide Dogs assocation receives back a confident dog ready for training.

Allysia Heness-Pugh directs George for the camera.

Deputy Head of Boarding, Allysia Heness-Pugh takes responsibility with George but is assisted by the girls.

We recently had a photographer from The North Shore Times to the School for an article about George and our partnership with Guide Dogs NSW/ACT.

Many thanks to boarders Sophie Overton (Year 8) and  Kate Stacy (Year 10) for helping George to pose for the cameras - which wasn't easy with a playful pup.

We  congratulate Allysia for taking the lead with this worthwhile initiative.
