Hornsby’s Westside Vibe gets the Abbotsleigh GLOW

The Westside Vibe event will take place on Friday 12 May at Hornsby’s Dural Lane. It’s a lively event that celebrates rhythm, creativity, colour, and the smells and flavours of global cuisine.

We were pleased to have representatives from Hornsby Council visit Abbotsleigh’s spectacular GLOW event last year. They were impressed with the creativity and professional presentation of all our Year 9 Design & Technology group lighting installations and asked if the student work could be included in their event.

Two Year 9 group works from last year have been chosen to feature in the Westside Vibe next week, turning the empty LJ Hooker shop, across from Hornsby Station, Old Side, into an underwater oasis. The display will include the hypnotic jellyfish created by Kelly Bridgland and Elizabeth McLean with the impressively large and colourful rainbow fish created by Sophie Forsythe, Rosie Mears and Emily Ong. We look forward to the girl’s work being celebrated and the ongoing relationship with Hornsby Shire Council and their Westside Vibe.

If you get along to the Westside Vibe on Friday 12 May make sure you check out the Abbotsleigh display.

Also, put a note in your diary to attend this year’s Abbotsleigh GLOW on the 14th June.
