Gaining Life Experience
Next week, Year 10 will spend the week in the workforce, gaining valuable life experiences and increasing their understanding of the educational choices that they have ahead of them.
While on work experience, they will mix with a broader cross-section of people than usually found in the school environment. They will learn about independence and initiative as they navigate their way around the workplace and acquire new skills. In addition, they will continue their journey of career development by being able to ask questions of their workmates about the subjects that were useful to them at school and the training that they received to get into the position that they currently occupy today. Their work experience week will also allow them to extend the knowledge they gained through listening to the speakers at our Careers Night two weeks ago. The opportunities provided to Year 10 students through their Morrisby testing, experiences at Careers Night and now through work experience, all play an important part in the way we assist the girls to explore their interests and to aid them with upcoming subject selection for their senior years.
