Farewell, Year 12

By Emily Liddell, Year 12 Coordinator
The final moments of schooling always bring about such joy and relief for making it through 13 years of school, but also sadness as students realise their world is about to change. The routine, the daily connection with friends, and the safety of belonging will take shape in a different manner from this moment on.
One beautiful thing about Abbotsleigh is the extended community grows as each year as another group of students graduate. New friendships are forged and strengthened beyond the cohort.
To the wider Abbotsleigh community, watch out! This is a special bunch of young women who are passionate about life, justice, peace, caring for the environment, who fiercely protect one another and cheer each other on in personal endeavours. They are not vanilla; they are the hokey pokey, the popping candy and the zest! Our world will be kinder, more compassionate, creative and empathetic simply because these students are in it.
To the class of 2019 you have made an indelible mark on all of us. May God bless you on this next leg of the journey. Remember you will always belong at Abbotsleigh and in this special community. We cannot wait to hear of the way you have loved and served others in the future as you continue to make our world a better place to live.
