L-R: Kim Boniface, President of the Abbotsleigh Old Girls' Union; Tara Commerford (Bowman, 1996), Annette Bowman (1968) and Victoria Rennie (Gosper, 1987)  Deputy Headmistress and Head of Senior School.

Our annual networking evening was held on 4 May, 2017  and brought together delicious food from Fortune Village restaurant (owned by Abbotsleigh family, Simon Chan and Mandy Chou) and a fascinating speaker, Tara Commerford (Bowman, 1996). Tara spoke openly about her time at Abbotsleigh, her unconventional career choices and unexpected twist and turns. The audience of 43 Old Girls heard:

  • Don’t let anyone tell you it can’t be done
  • Never think you’re stuck in a career
  • Rock bottom is always a good place to start again
  • Your personal brand is critical to success

Tara is currently Vice President and Managing Director for GoDaddy Australia and New Zealand, the world’s largest technology provider dedicated to small businesses. Based in Sydney, she is responsible for building GoDaddy’s presence in Australia and New Zealand, accelerating business growth and promoting GoDaddy’s products and services.

Our networking events are always incredibly well received and offer both the opportunity to meet up with Old Girls as well as hear from unique speakers. Our next networking event will be a breakfast meeting on Thursday 26 October – please make sure you save the date.
