Microsoft software
A range of Microsoft products is available for installation on a home computer to Abbotsleigh families as part of the IT Access program. The software is available to students in Kindergarten through to Year 6. For students in Years 7-12, the licence and software are bundled into the laptop supplied to students for take home use.
 
The offer is only valid for families during the time their daughter is at Abbotsleigh.
 
Parents should be aware that the installation of Windows 7 Ultimate will depend on the specifications of the home computer and that some older peripheral devices such as printers and scanners are not supported by Windows 7. It is recommended that you investigate the support for these devices before attempting to install Windows 7. Click here for more information.

Current software available
  • Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit) operating system
    OR Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) operating system
    For more information on the differences between the 32 and 64 bit versions, please visit Microsoft’s FAQ page.
    To check whether or not your computer is 64 bit capable, please use this link to verify. If in doubt, choose the 32 bit version.
  • Microsoft Office 2010 (includes Access, Communicator, Excel, InfoPath, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Publisher)
    OR Microsoft Office 2011 for Macintosh (includes Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Microsoft Visio Professional 2010
The School is unable to provide technical support for these applications and it is advisable to research system requirements for each application.

Licence specifics
If you have two or more students at the School in Kindergarten to Year 6, you are entitled to additional copies of the software, which will cover a number of computers at home.

If your daughter leaves the school, you must uninstall the software.
 
The Microsoft 7 Professional offer is an upgrade licence and can only be legally installed on machines with a pre-existing 32 bit or 64 bit operating system (Windows 95 and above).
