Vision in silk

Abbotsleigh scarf by Hannah Ranby with jacket

Abbotsleigh welcomed its first Indigenous Scholarship students in 2008 and since then Abbotsleigh and the Abbotsleigh Foundation, working in partnership with Yalari, have enabled 19 Indigenous girls to gain an Abbotsleigh education. These scholarships are made possible by the ongoing generosity of the School community.

Just in time for Christmas, we have a very special scarf available for purchase.  All profits from the sale of these scarves will support Indigenous Scholarships at Abbotsleigh.

Abbotsleigh scarf by Hannah Ranby

The chic, pure silk black and white scarf is a reproduction of a lino print titled Shedding Totem: Kamilaroi Bloodlines by Hannah Ranby, an Abbotsleigh Old Girl (2013) and a former Abbotsleigh Indigenous Scholar, as part of her HSC body of work.

The design evokes the patterns found in bark and trees, the natural habitat of the carpet snake, Hannah’s totem.
