New AbbSchool Assistant Swim Coach joins Abbotsleigh
We are very fortunate to welcome Cameron Gledhill to Abbotsleigh as our new assistant swimming coach. Amanda Isaac, our head swimming coach travelled to Berlin with Cameron on an Australian Team in 2013. Cameron has been a Silver license coach since 2011, after beginning coaching in 2007. He has coached in both the US and Australia, at all levels from development level up to the Australian team coaching staff.
Cameron began swimming in Canberra in 1998. He made the top ten at age Nationals. He moved to the USA and swam for the Curl Burke Swim Club. He has won State Championships in 100m breaststroke and 200m freestyle. He was awarded a scholarship to Virginia Tech University and achieved a bronze medal at the US National Championships in the 50m breaststroke and was named 4 time all American.
Cameron has relocated from Canberra to join us at Abbotsleigh. He believes that coaching, although results and performance based, has an even more important role in the development of better people. He enjoys assisting athletes through their development - allowing them the opportunity to set goals and learn about work ethic.
Outside of the pool, Cameron has a keen interest in everything rugby.
