Senior School
seniorschool.jpgAbbotsleigh Senior School is for girls in Years 7-12. The Senior School is divided into two distinct but clearly linked divisions, the Middle School (Years 7-8) and the Senior College (Years 9-12). We recognise that learning needs between early adolescence and young adulthood are markedly different. Our programs in both areas of the Senior School facilitate the different stages of each student’s development.

There are approximately 150 girls in each year group who are cared for by teachers and tutors with a wealth of expertise in their academic fields and an enthusiasm for working with young women. The Middle School and Senior College come together for weekly assemblies and School events and share the canteen, sports facilities, library, administration facilities and many classrooms.

Throughout the Senior School, students are encouraged to participate in the diverse range of co-curricular activities run by the School. Girls in the Senior School can also participate in various exchange programs with partner schools in the United Kingdom, United States, Europe, Canada and New Zealand, providing students with an opportunity to expand their global awareness and further their will to serve, as outlined in our School Purpose.

Philosophy of the Senior School
All Senior School girls are cognisant of the past, present and future, as:
  • Respecters of tradition
  • The voice of today
  • The architects of tomorrow

Support structure
The Head of Middle School and Head of Senior College oversee the academic care programs of each age group and are supported by the Director of Curriculum, who is responsible for the academic programs for Years 7-12. Year Coordinators, Heads of Departments, House Tutors and subject teachers all contribute to the academic care of each girl. The Head of Senior School oversees the entire Senior School.
