Academic results
artexpress.jpgAbbotsleigh has a sustained history of strong results in the HSC, and since the NAPLAN tests began in 2008, students have performed exceptionally well compared to the state average. Abbotsleigh girls work hard to achieve high academic results. They work together to help their peers and the principle of lifelong learning is actively encouraged. While the results may vary a little from year to year, they consistently reveal solid academic successes.

Outstanding HSC results for 2011
Our 2011 Year 12 cohort achieved outstanding results in the HSC examinations. Abbotsleigh has two students who have topped the state in their subject and 18 girls on the All-round Achievers list. The number of students who have reached Band 5 and 6 results through hard work and determination is highly commendable. The whole year group has worked collaboratively supporting each other with a strong sense of community spirit.
Outstanding 2011 NAPLAN results
Our Years 3 and 5 girls achieved very well in the nationwide NAPLAN tests this year. The students achieved significantly above the state and regional averages in all areas of literacy and numeracy.

In the Senior School, 97% of Year 7 girls were in the top three bands in writing, while 94% of Year 9 girls were in the top three bands for writing.

Schools across Australia undertake the same NAPLAN tests on the same days. Students' skills are assessed in numeracy, reading, writing, spelling, punctuation and grammar. These tables show percentages of the School's band distribution compared to the state and regional band distributions.
