Miss Ruth Hirst (1954 - 1957)

Miss Hirst came to Abbotsleigh from PLC Pymble where she had been for ten years. She was a very devout Christian and seems to have been very highly regarded by the girls.

During her time the swimming pool was constructed and in 1957 was opened, after many years of planning. The P&F was also founded under her guidance.

Miss Hirst returned to Abbotsleigh in 1985 to open Hirst Cottage - the Year 12 Boarding House named in her honour. She died in 1993.
