Welcome to Abbotsleigh

Welcome to Abbotsleigh, an Anglican school with a rich heritage of academic excellence and a broad co curricular program. Abbotsleigh is a vibrant environment where students participate in experiential learning. Programs such as Outdoor Education, Applied Learning and Service-Learning allow students to experience opportunities to explore new curriculum areas as well as build skills in leadership and decision making while working independently and in teams. Abbotsleigh girls grow to be critical and reflective thinkers with a set of values nurtured by our Christian foundation.

All girls have Christian Studies from Kindergarten to Year 12 and attend chapel regularly. Students are encouraged to reflect on the teachings of Christ and the historical teachings of the Bible throughout their studies. It is important to us that our love of Christ is shared through our acts of service and worship.

Abbotsleigh is a K–12 boarding and day school for girls. The Junior School campus is a 10 minute walk from the Senior School campus giving us an opportunity to ensure the benefits of educational continuity while providing a new environment in the Year 6 to Year 7 transition period. Facilities such as the Aquatic Centre, the Abbotsleigh Research Centre, the Peter Duly Concert Hall and the Chapel are shared by all girls, helping to promote a sense of community. Boarders at Abbotsleigh bring a rich diversity to the school and provide the day girls with an opportunity to learn about country living and cultural differences while the boarders grow in their understanding of Sydney’s cultural opportunities.
