Remember Abbotsleigh
remember-2.jpgThe Marian Clarke Society, an initiative of the Abbotsleigh Bequest Committee, aims to discreetly acknowledge during their lifetime those Old Girls and friends of the School who have notified us that they intend leaving a bequest to Abbotsleigh. Bequests to the School are given with much thought and consideration and accepted with great appreciation. We wish the donor to know how much pleasure their gift will be able to bring.

The concept of the Marian Clarke Society offers us the pleasure of sharing in that affection while the donor lives.

There are various forms of bequest and your gift can either be used towards the general purpose of the School to ensure continuing needs are met or for a more specific purpose, such as a scholarship or an academic building or sporting facility.

To remember Abbotsleigh, discuss with your solicitor how to include Abbotsleigh in your will.

Understandably some prefer not to notify Abbotsleigh with the details of their bequest, but we would be delighted to introduce you to the Marian Clarke Society and honour during your lifetime the impact your gift will make.

Forms of bequest:
  • Cash legacy: A nominated and specific sum of money given from the value of your whole estate (e.g. a cash donation of $1,000).
  • Bequest of property or asset: This is the gift of a specific item you may own (e.g. buildings, land, shares, debentures or life insurance policies, or even works of art, jewellery or furniture).
  • Proportional bequest: A percentage or fraction of the value of your whole estate.
  • Residual bequest: The remainder of your estate, after all specific legacies and gifts have been made to other beneficiaries. This can be shared in percentages among beneficiaries.
